Meagan Celeste, principal and founder, spent the last 12 years as Global Vice President of AdForum, where she worked with advertising agencies to increase the visibility of their brand and cultivate strong relationships with their clients. After studying sport law and graduating with a B.S. in Kinesiology/Sports Management, Meagan began her career at a national news television network where she was constantly exposed to stories of people in need and grew increasingly compelled to help. After seeing the film Hotel Rwanda and Don Cheadle's Oscar-worthy performance, she was inspired to write, produce and direct a PSA for Save Darfur Coalition. Meagan successfully persuaded Don Cheadle and the real-life genocide survivor Paul Rusesabagina to participate. Music artist Wyclef Jean granted the rights to his song from the soundtrack and footage was donated by actress/activist Mia Farrow, Amnesty International and UNHCR. The PSA earned millions of views and was featured on Access Hollywood during its second week of distribution.
Meagan has since spent over 15 years working with non-profit organizations, global ad agencies, public relations firms and top celebrity activists. In the last decade, Meagan has sat on the board of a renowned national children’s cancer charity and has worked on national campaigns, public service announcements and private events with various celebrities including Christian Bale, Liam Neeson, Robert DeNiro, Melissa McCarthy, Hugh Jackman, Emily Blunt, Chris Pratt, Gerard Butler, Taylor Lautner, James McAvoy, Tim Robbins, Julianne Moore and many others who trust her when it comes to introducing them to charitable organizations and advising them on best practices and volunteer opportunities. She also works to coordinate movie screening events for Ronald McDonald House New York with top studios such as NBC/Universal, Disney, Dreamworks, Fox, Marvel and Lionsgate. Working with such a vast network of philanthropic companies and individuals inspired her to form a network of professionals who could be called upon to pool resources and ideas in order to more effectively serve the greater good. The Active Response Team is an extension of her personal efforts to support world-class charities that focus on a variety of causes including international adoption, human rights issues and pediatric cancer awareness.
Meagan is a proud mom to a beautiful (and demanding) little girl who shares her love for all things music, song and dance. Aside from time spent with family and friends, Meagan's passions include trying to teach her daughter how to play the piano, surfing year-round in the Caribbean with her husband and playing men's beer league ice hockey at the Prudential Center (check out 'Hooligans Hockey' under Community Responders).
Liz Spranzani is the SVP of Development & Engineering at Verndale, a digital agency with corporate headquarters in Boston, MA. After graduating from Boston College with degrees in Computer Science and Psychology, Liz began working at Verndale in 2001. She has had the privilege of playing various critical roles within the organization as it has grown from a 7-person company to a global 200-person agency, including engineer, technical lead, architect, and has most recently assumed the role of leader of development in 2015. Her key responsibilities include working with her teams to ensure that transformational projects for Fortune 500 companies are executed successfully on budget and in time while pushing the boundaries of technical innovation, and more importantly making sure her employees are satisfied and excited about their careers.
More than 10 years ago, after moving back to New Jersey, Liz was introduced to Meagan and they quickly cultivated a strong friendship. Liz was inspired through the years by Meagan's genuine dedication to her charitable causes but wasn't sure how she could help. When Liz and her husband Chris were blessed with their daughter Sasha in 2015, Liz came to the realization that it was time to become more active and be a role model for her daughter. An important part of that is to show Sasha how to put others first, and to not just talk about doing something, but actually doing it. She could think of no one better than Meagan to help her get involved. Liz is now doing her best to put her organizational, technical, and leadership skills to use in support of those who need it most.
John Hedlund is CEO and Executive Producer of Open Iris Entertainment and Exit 172 Productions, film and television production companies located in Montvale, New Jersey. Graduating in 2008 from William Paterson University, John quickly rose through the ranks of entertainment. His first break came as associate producer and assistant technical director at Vidicom, the production company of the hit travel show Citybuzz. After Citybuzz John transitioned from recorded television to Live TV and webcasts. In 2013 John was tasked with building a TV studio in the offices of Popsugar New York. As Technical Director and Post Production Supervisor of Popsugar Studios New York, John was in charge of all video shot and edited from their studio and on location in the city. This included over 200 live news broadcasts and over 300 taped news segments. The pinnacle of John’s experience with Popsugar was their 2014 and 2015 Live Academy Awards Red Carpet Specials with over 2.5 Million Viewers. Outside of Television, John has won numerous awards for his film work. “Star Crossed Lovers” William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, a feature film by Franceso Nuzzi and John Hedlund, won Best Feature Adaptation at the 2016 Garden State Film Festival and Best Feature US at the 2016 International Film Festival Manhattan. In 2017 John became Festival Director of the Jersey Shore Film Festival, celebrating its 10th annual year. He is also a member of the Friars Club and a SAG/AFTRA Signatory Producer.
Outside of work and volunteering, John loves spending time with his wife, Katie, who is also involved with helping children and their families as an Occupational Therapist. Together they enjoy spending time with family, traveling, camping, theme parks, tv, and movies.
